Glamour, Fashion and Snow

It's always a rush to see exhibitions before they finish let a lone in the snow, last week visiting Tim Walker and Valentino at Somerset House and Hollywood Glamour at the V&A was certainly inspiring.
Valentino
The scale of the exhibition wasn't as large as I had anticipated nor was the range of items as diverse. The main focus was around a beautiful dresses displayed either side of a catwalk amongst chairs labelled with names of celebrity and royalty show guests. Valentino creations are imaginative and exquisitely executed, true dreamy couture.

Tim Walker
Master of out of this world fantasy, Tim Walkers imagination runs wild producing imagery featuring the highest calibre of sitter. Stunning photos displayed alongside props featured in the shoot, such as a giant doll. This is the kind of fashion image that inspires, reminds you that everything we do shouldn't evolve around cost, margins, distribution, bringing back the essence dreaming and creating.

Tim Walker shoot featuring Karen Elson was taken for Vogue in a central London (8 bed) house before I got to work on the interior design.

Hollywood Glamour
This is how an exhibition should be, exciting, substantial and emotive. I visited this during one of the early morning VIP openings which was a real treat. Walking round the museum so early in the morning made me feel like a child wondering if all the statues come alive at night. The use of moving film imagery on large projections and digital screens showing interviews with actors, actresses and costume designers really brought costumes of varying decades into 2013. Its great to see the V&A putting on a fashion exhibition of this scale. Highlights were the dress worn by Joan Crawford in the The Bride Wore Red, Suit worn by Tippi Hedren in Hitchcocks The Birds and Marilyn Monroe's famous white dress.

Clements Ribeiro / LFW

The Clements Ribeiro show today was perfect. The riot of sapphire blue tartan mixed with traditional style brocade print, fuchsia pink skirt teamed with shiny black leather, red leather gloves and gun metal brocade is enough to make any girl scream with joy. Then out came an amazing loose fitting fuchsia jumpsuit with red underarms accessorised with a wide black leather belt and long black gloves, I had dies and gone to fashion heaven. I love neon pink and coral lips so was very happy to see the hot pink lips 'Rose Muse ' from Bourjois' new ranges, the Colourissimo (out in June). As you can see I was standing and couldn't take any decent photos, take a look at Vogue for the whole collection.

Dolce & Gabbana Net-a-Porter

Natalie Massenet of Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter threw a party for Dolce & Gabbana to launch their new e-commerce collaboration. Fortunately my name was on the list, thanks Heba. The party was held in Net-a-Porter's very slick Westfield offices. The stars were out in force, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce were joined by Naomi Campbell, Queen Latifah, Pixie Lott, Peaches Geldof, Jaime Winstone, Alfie Allen, David Gandy, Kelly Osbourne, Bip Ling, and Jade Parfitt to name a few! The cocktails were lovely as was Jamie Winstone who I briefly managed to grab and gave details of Black Neon. Hopefully she'll be in touch!

Lascivious / Brand Feature

Showing at the Lingerie Collective Black Neon caught up with Chloe Hamblen and Rachel Littlejohn from Lascivious.
Lascivious' name is quoted in the dictionary as; Given to or expressing lust; lecherous. Exciting sexual desires; salacious. Lustful, playful. Which defines the nature of the lingerie and the brand itself, naughty but nice! Lascivious manages to perfectly blend the luxurious erotic styles with a commercial appeal.
Lascivious was started by Chloe just under 6 years ago, with Coco de Mare being the first store to stock the brand. Lascivious has grown into a sought after brand with around 40 International stockists, including Selfridges, Apartment C and Victoria Secrets as well as the brands own online store.
Chloe has remained dedicated even through the tough times of the brand, now she is able to concerntarte more of her time on the elements that she enjoys best, the creative side. Chloe's creative vision and great technical skills are supported by her small but perfectly formed team including the amazing Rachel, handling sales and Chloe's brother who takes care of digital (web/design/branding).
Lascivious' Press coverage include Vogue, iD, Harpers Bazaar and Wallpaper. The brand's PR which use to be handled in-house is now with HPR, another indication that this is a brand now competing in the next level. Celebraties featured in Lascivious include Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, and Drew Barrymore.
Lascivious price range retails around £80 - £130 for a set in the luxury basics range, and around £350 in the high end fashion ranges. An exciting edition to the range is Candy but soon to be available with hand embellished swarovski crystals £900.
Yet more excitement from Lascivious is the SS11 shoot, shot by Rankin stars his wife Tuuli. The shots are as you would imagine, sexy, erotic, modern, stunning. Watch this space!
In the meantime take a look at the AW10 collection shoot! Which will be available from next week! Don't forget to check out www.lascivious.co.uk
