Craft Central presents Fashioned during London Fashion Week

What a breath of fresh air to visit a well curated (by Sarah Hewett) exhibition of diverse and beautifully made accessories and jewellery.

Celebrating London Fashion Week Craft Central presented Fashioned featuring 'wearable art' from 25 designer-makers. Great to see one of my favourite jewellery designers there, Grace Hamilton, and lovely to discover designers work I've not yet come across.

Temperley / London Fashion Week AW13

Location
The Dorchester set the tone for an elegant show, tea coffee and biscuits were served.

Influence
BYRDS collection cited Hitchcock actress Tippi Hedren as muse, creating a darker streamlined style than usually synonymous with Temperley.

Look
Beautiful whites and cream checks. Swing coats. 60s influenced. Neat fitting polo neck jumpers. Long lean floor length white evening dresses (that could be easily worn as a wedding dress). Bold embellishment using large crystals or gold beading, in a clean modern configuration or scalloped 30s pattern. Heavy weight gold square jacquard brocade. Sapphire blue. Signature Temperley prints with a slight art nouveau element. Pointed extremely high Charlotte Olympia court shoes with thin heels. Covetable half hand covering white or black leather gloves, and full length black leather gloves.

Issa / London Fashion Week AW13

Models
The stunning Cara Delevingne opened todays Issa show, I can honestly say she lived up to the hype. Jourdan Dunn looked flawless and chic.

Front Row
Zandra Rhodes pink bob looked great, whilst sitting next to Jodie Kidd. The Saturdays.

Look
Relaxed 70's, huge pheasant feathers in fedora hats, close fitting knitted hoods, geometric prints and long sleeve jumpers under silk jersey dresses.

David Koma LFW 170912

Once again was delighted that I was able to see one of my favourite London designers at London Fashion Week SS13. David Koma is someone who I identify with creatively both in terms of research, inspiration, interpretation and end result. Koma's love of graphic, geometric, linear and multi layering was heightened by his bold use of contrasting colour palette (white, black, spearmint & emerald green, sapphire blue and orange). To add extra dimension Koma injected sexiness into the sportswear (30's tennis dress and racer front neckline details) inspired outfits with sections of high shine patent leather in highlight colours or sleek black. The pattern emerging through the collection seems to be similar to that of the metal wire mesh fencing seen on sports courts, in keeping with Koma's tennis inspiration. It's great to see designers who are not scared to reference their past collections showing a natural progression and sense of being true their long term vision. Here's hoping Koma one day seeks someone to collaborate with him on swimwear!
My iphone pics weren't great as I was at the back of a packed show, images of models from style.com.

Holly Fulton / LFW

The Holly Fulton show did not disappoint! A beautiful mix of fuschia pinks, turquoise and aqua bluey greens adorned with VERY sparkly necklaces and oversized bags. I spy with my little eye, Tolula Adeyemi, Colin Mcdowell and Hilary Alexander in the front row.
